The itinerary was very easy to understand. We knew exactly what we were covering on both days and the pace felt comfortable for our parents.
Ten days, five holy rivers and the land of Shiv, Krishna and Ram. This tour takes you from the Ganga ghats of Haridwar and Rishikesh to the lanes of Braj, then on to Ayodhya, the Sangam at Prayagraj and the ancient city of Kashi, all by private cab with hotel stays booked for you.
The route moves in one direction from the hills to the plains, so there is no back-and-forth driving. Every city gets at least one full day, and each evening ends at a river aarti.
This 10 Days Haridwar Mathura Ayodhya Prayagraj Varanasi Tour is made for devotees who want to cover the biggest pilgrimage towns of North India in a single trip. You start in Haridwar and Rishikesh, spend three days in Mathura, Vrindavan, Govardhan and Barsana, then drive to Ayodhya for Ram Lalla darshan, take a holy dip at Triveni Sangam and end your yatra in Varanasi with Kashi Vishwanath and Sarnath.
Your driver meets you at your Delhi address or at Haridwar station / airport, whichever suits your travel plan, and brings you to the hotel. Once you have settled in, ride the cable car up to Mansa Devi and Chandi Devi, the two goddess temples that watch over the town. On the way back, stop at Bharat Mata Mandir and the Daksh Mahadev Temple in Kankhal, where the story of Sati took place. As the sun goes down, find a spot on the steps of Har Ki Pauri and watch the Ganga Aarti light up the river. Night in Haridwar.
After breakfast, a short one-hour drive brings you to Rishikesh, where the Ganga comes out of the mountains clear and fast. Walk over the swaying Ram Jhula, look around the Laxman Jhula area and step into ashrams like Parmarth Niketan. Spend unhurried time at Triveni Ghat, offer flowers to the river and simply enjoy the calm. Drive back to Haridwar in the evening for your second night.
We leave around 4 AM so the long road to Mathura is easy and traffic-free, with tea and breakfast breaks along the way. After a short rest at the hotel, cross the Yamuna to Gokul and see Raman Reti, the sandy ground where baby Krishna played, along with Brahmand Ghat and Chinta Haran Mahadev. Back in Mathura, have darshan at Shri Krishna Janmasthan and Dwarkadhish Temple, then end the day with the Yamuna Aarti at Vishram Ghat. Night in Mathura.
Today belongs to Vrindavan. Begin at the quiet grove of Nidhivan and the marble Shah Ji Temple, then move through the old temples of Radha Raman, Radha Vallabh, Madan Mohan and Govind Dev Ji. Join the joyful crowd at Banke Bihari Ji, visit Chardham Temple and sit for kirtan at ISKCON. In the evening, watch Prem Mandir glow in changing colours during its light and fountain show. Night in Mathura.
Start slow with morning darshan at ISKCON, the tall golden pillar of Rangnath Ji and the many floors of Pagal Baba Temple. Later in the afternoon, drive out to Govardhan, the hill Krishna held up to shelter Braj from the rain, and pray at the Giriraj Ji Temple. Finish at Radha Kund and the lovely stone ghats of Kusum Sarovar, best seen near sunset. Night in Mathura.
Check out after breakfast and head to Nandgaon to see Nand Bhawan, the hilltop home of Nand Baba and Yashoda Maiya. Next is Barsana, Radha Rani's birthplace, with the Sri Ji Temple on the hill and the colourful Rangeeli Mahal. Around noon we start the long expressway drive to Ayodhya, stopping for lunch and tea. Reach your hotel by late evening and rest. Night in Ayodhya.
Follow local custom and begin at Hanuman Garhi before going for darshan of Ram Lalla at the new Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. Visit Kanak Bhawan, the golden palace of Sita Ram, then see the carved stones at Karsevak Puram and the Tulsi Smarak Bhawan. In the evening, join devotees at Ram Ki Paidi for the gentle Saryu Aarti. Night in Ayodhya.
A drive of around four hours takes you to Prayagraj. After check-in, take a boat out to Triveni Sangam, where the Ganga and Yamuna meet, and bathe at the holy point with a small puja. Visit the lying Bade Hanuman Ji, Patalpuri Temple in the fort and Alopshankari Devi. See Anand Bhawan and Azad Park if time allows, then relax for the evening. Night in Prayagraj.
After breakfast, drive about three hours to Varanasi and check in. Board a boat on the Ganga and float past the long chain of ghats, including Manikarnika, Harishchandra and Assi Ghat, watching daily life and prayers along the bank. In the evening, the boat or the ghat steps give you a front seat for the famous Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh. Night in Varanasi.
Wake early for a walk on Dashashwamedh Ghat and darshan at Kashi Vishwanath through the wide new corridor, along with nearby temples. After breakfast, visit Durga Kund and pick up Banarasi silk or sweets in the local market. Then drive to Sarnath, where Buddha gave his first teaching, to see Dhamek Stupa, Chaukhandi Stupa and the museum. In the evening we drop you at Varanasi airport or railway station for your journey home.
