The itinerary was very easy to understand. We knew exactly what we were covering on both days and the pace felt comfortable for our parents.
Start with the sights of the capital and travel all the way to Kashi. This twelve-day plan adds Delhi sightseeing and an extra day in Haridwar to the classic North India pilgrimage, so the pace stays easy and every city gets the time it deserves.
Two days in Delhi help you settle in before the yatra, and three nights in Haridwar give you a calm, unhurried start on the banks of the Ganga.
This 12 Days Delhi Haridwar Mathura Ayodhya Prayagraj Varanasi Tour begins with a proper look at Delhi – Qutub Minar, Lotus Temple, Akshardham, Red Fort and Chandni Chowk. From there you travel to Haridwar and Rishikesh, spend three days in Braj, and continue to Ayodhya, Prayagraj and Varanasi. It is the best choice for travellers coming from abroad or other states who want to see it all in one holiday.
We meet you at the Delhi airport or railway station and take you to your hotel. After some rest, begin a gentle city tour. See the soaring Qutub Minar, the white petals of the Lotus Temple, and drive along Rajpath past India Gate and Parliament House. Families with children can also stop at the Delhi Zoo. In the evening, visit Akshardham and watch its water and light show. Overnight in Delhi.
After breakfast and check-out, see the massive walls of the Red Fort and take a rickshaw through Chandni Chowk for parathas, jalebi and a look at the old bazaars. Around noon we drive to Haridwar, about five to six hours away. If we reach on time, go straight to Har Ki Pauri for the evening Ganga Aarti, then check in at your hotel. Overnight in Haridwar.
A calm day to explore Haridwar. Ride the ropeway to Mansa Devi and Chandi Devi for darshan and wide views of the river. Visit Bharat Mata Mandir, where each floor honours India's saints and heroes, and the Daksh Mahadev Temple in Kankhal. The evening is yours – take a quiet dip at the ghats or shop for rudraksha and puja items. Overnight in Haridwar.
Drive to Rishikesh after breakfast. Walk across Ram Jhula, explore the Laxman Jhula area and visit riverside ashrams. Relax at Triveni Ghat, feel the cool Ganga water and enjoy a simple sattvik lunch in town. Head back to Haridwar by evening. Overnight in Haridwar.
Leave Haridwar around 4 AM for the drive to Mathura, with food stops on the way. After a short rest, cross to Gokul to see Raman Reti, Brahmand Ghat and Chinta Haran Mahadev. Back in Mathura, take darshan at Krishna Janmasthan and Dwarkadhish Temple, and end with the Yamuna Aarti at Vishram Ghat. Overnight in Mathura.
Spend the whole day in Vrindavan. Visit Nidhivan and Shah Ji Temple, then the historic temples of Radha Raman, Radha Vallabh, Madan Mohan and Govind Dev Ji. Have darshan at Banke Bihari Ji, see Chardham Temple and join the chanting at ISKCON. At night, Prem Mandir lights up with colours and music. Overnight in Mathura.
In the morning, visit ISKCON, Rangnath Ji Temple and Pagal Baba Mandir. Later, drive to Govardhan for darshan of Giriraj Ji, the sacred hill of Krishna, and see Radha Kund and Kusum Sarovar as the day cools down. Overnight in Mathura.
After breakfast, check out and visit Nand Bhawan at Nandgaon, then the Radha Rani Temple and Rangeeli Mahal in Barsana. At about 12 PM, start the long expressway drive to Ayodhya with comfortable breaks. Check in late in the evening. Overnight in Ayodhya.
Start at Hanuman Garhi, then have darshan of Ram Lalla at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. Visit Kanak Bhawan, Karsevak Puram and the Tulsi Smarak Bhawan. In the evening, sit by the Saryu River for the aarti at Ram Ki Paidi. Overnight in Ayodhya.
Drive to Prayagraj and check in. Go by boat to Triveni Sangam for a holy dip and puja. Visit Bade Hanuman Ji, Patalpuri Temple, Alopshankari Devi, Anand Bhawan and Azad Park. Evening at leisure. Overnight in Prayagraj.
Drive to Varanasi after breakfast and check in. Take a boat ride on the Ganga past Manikarnika, Harishchandra and Assi Ghat. In the evening, watch the Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat – the perfect last evening of your yatra. Overnight in Varanasi.
Walk the ghats at dawn and go for darshan at Kashi Vishwanath. After breakfast, visit Durga Kund and the local market. Then see Sarnath – Dhamek Stupa, Chaukhandi Stupa and the museum. In the evening, we drop you at Varanasi airport or railway station with happy memories of your twelve-day journey.
